Turning American Politics Upside Down
Today's Top Down Party Structure
Today's political parties and our choices for representation are best represented by a triangle. Money, Power, and Influence pour in the top. That Money, Power and Influence is then disseminated through the political structure of the party, by a chosen few individuals, from the federal to the state level. Very little of that arrives at the local level. Those viewed as most deserving, and receiving the most assistance from the party are the most adherent to its platform, policies and beliefs.
Minimal concern is given to the people being represented simply because as individuals the average American brings very little money, power and influence to the party. To them you and I are simply a swing vote.
Neighbors Re-imagining Tomorrow
We are not simply a swing vote, we are "The" vote. By flipping the current party paradigm we can remove the disproportionate influence that powerful groups and individuals have over the political process. We can make this Power and Influence flow from the bottom up.
